Kickstart Breakfast

Kickstart Breakfast

Today at St. Bernadette's, we had Tracey Fleming (Relationship Manager) from Kickstart Breakfast and John (Sanitarium Manager) visit our Breakfast Club to see how things were going. We have Breakfast Club running on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at school in Room 7. This is an opportunity for children to have breakfast before school to engage their brains, and it is also a social time where children can converse with other students and adults.

In the photo we can see (aside from Tracey and John), Mr Norman (Principal of St. Bernadette's), Mrs Barnes (volunteers) who help out at Breakfast Club and Karin from Mana Ake.

Here are some comments from children in Room 8 about the Breakfast Club:

"I like the food that they make".
"I like the way Breakfast Club provides food for children who haven't eaten breakfast at home".
"I like the way the Staff who volunteer in Breakfast Club are so welcoming to everyone".
"At Breakfast Club, I like the way the Volunteers are very polite and it is fun to talk to them".
"I like the way we get to choose what we would like to eat".

  1. Hello Room 8, It's me Ramsay from Room 6, I love the way you guys are giving feedback about the breakfast club. It's amazing to see staff and parents volunteering to help out with the breakfast club. Maybe next time you could possibly add information about the student volunteers, because it might raise awareness on student volunteers and kids might want to help. I love how you guys informed everyone about breakfast club and the days it is open. Keep up the great work and keep staying positive!!
