Giving back to the Community

Giving back to the Community

Recently we had the privilege to create puzzle pieces saying welcome in different languages. Some of these languages were: Samoan, Chinese, Filipino, Fijian, English, Tongan, Maori, Indian Punjabi, and Cook Island. We had to do a base coat and then another coat of paint and then we created the words and painted over the puzzle pieces with black. We had to make sure that you could not see the pencil underneath it or we had to do another layer (Term 2). Then when it was all dry our caretaker Henk took them to 126 on the Corner to put up in the hall. After the holidays we went down to 126 on the Corner to go see what they looked like all together (Term 3). The puzzle pieces were in order of the rainbow. The Community were there to celebrate the new look to the hall. They complemented us on the puzzle pieces and said that they looked really good.

  2. Hi there Room 8, I really admire your kindness and i also love the way you guys created these puzzle pieces to display in the hall of 126 on the corner. I remember listening and using some of these greeting to say to others. Maybe next time you could write what culture they are from below the greeting? But it is okay, It's great to see Other St. Bernadette students helping out the community. Stay positive room 8 and keep up the great work!!
