WALT: Learn some words and phrases of the Samoan Language.
In Room 8 we have Samoan students who can speak the language fluently.
We had reading groups of 4 or 5 where the experts showed us how to say some simple words in their language, through sharing Samoan stories.
Here are Felix and Sanele (the experts) leading one of the groups.
Welcome to Room Eight's Blog. We are a class of Year 6 and 7 students at St Bernadette's School in Christchurch New Zealand. This is a place where we will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. We would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Talofa lava,
ReplyDeleteAwesome Room 8 to see you connecting with Samoan language week. I think Samoan is such a beautiful language, I was amazed to find out that the Samoan language has less letters in it than english. My favourite Samoan story is Sina and the Eel. What is yours?

ReplyDeletehello Room 8 its simon from room 6 and it's great to see you guys step up and be proud of your culture. I seems like everyone liking what you guys are teaching because of the way they are tuned into what you guys have to say. keep up the outstanding behaviour and keep on being the role models you guys are.
